I am attending a conference, how do i register?
Easy! Go to our Register page and fill out the Conference form.
I work at a school, how do i bring in a participating expert?
Simple! Just go to our Register page and complete the Classroom form.
I want to support Conference2Classroom, how do i give you all my money?
Firstly, maybe you shouldn't give us all your money! But you can make a one time donation or provide monthly support. You'll find more information here.
Is there a cost to participate?
Nope! We rely on donations to help cover transportation and some other costs.
I made a donation, how does my money get used?
All contributions help support our mission of connecting experts with local classrooms. Some funds go to more boring things (like paying for this website). Others go to supporting our core initiative (basically, paying for transportation to get experts back and forth from conferences to local schools). And additional funds go to developing exciting new things (like promotional materials and webinars).
I am always on social media, where can i find you?
#canrelate! We're mostly on Twitter and Instagram, but we have a Facebook and LinkedIn too.
I THINK WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS REALLY COOL BUT I AM NOT ATTENDING ANY CONFERENCES, I DON'T WORK AT A SCHOOL, PLUS I'M KIND OF BROKE RIGHT NOW.
That's okay! You can always find us on social media and say hello :)
So, How does Conference2Classroom work anyway?
We sort of act like a matchmaking service between experts attending conferences and classrooms. As we operate across Canada there is a lot of ground to cover. If we have a registration in a city that we have not current match we solicit potential experts or classrooms, and if we have enough time we usually can make a match!
What a neat Idea! Who came up with this?
Conference2Classroom was founded in autumn 2018 by Rachel Kuzmich, a PhD student in geography at Queen's University, after she returned from a conference and literally never left the convention centre (her hotel was in the adjacent building).
